MEAT PROCESSING PLANT
NPC’s meat processing plant is located in the south of Jordan, and was constructed over an area of 6,000 square meters. The meat processing plant granted the Food Safety System Certification 22000 (FSSC 22000) in November 2017, as a result of the adoption of the highest food safety standards worldwide. The processing plant is exporting its range of products under Del Monte Brand to many countries in the MENA markets.
Major areas of production are WIP Freezers, preparation area, cut-up area, marinating, canning line, forming line and packaging area.
The meat processing plant provides the local market (Retail and HORECA) with a wide range of high quality frozen chicken and meat products, in addition to canned products, packed in different sizes and different packaging material to meet the Jordanian consumers’ desires and wishes. The grain-fed fresh chicken of the National Poultry Co. is a major source of chicken meat for the meat processing plant. Meat, spices, bread crumbs and all other raw material are procured from well-known and approved suppliers.
QUALITY CONTROL
NPC implements a food safety and quality management system that leads to safe and quality products that meet or exceed consumers’ expectations. The quality department’s role starts with controlling raw material where all incoming material is visually checked upon receipt. The temperature of the frozen material and vehicles is checked upon arrival as well, and samples are taken for chemical and/or microbial analysis before final release.
